Blessings and greetings,

I am responding to your letter from this Sunday. As you request, I will mention your name at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, so that you may earn your livelihood and also for your business. May Hashem grant that you inform me very soon of good news in this regard.

It is surely unnecessary to remind you that the best way to avoid the difficulties one may experience in earning a generous livelihood is, from the outset, to give tzedakah* abundantly. It is said, indeed, that the Holy One, blessed be He, "nourishes each one and provides for his sustenance." It is also said, "Please, put Me to the test in this matter."

Our Sages* further emphasize that Hashem does not merely give to a person. He also protects what He grants, so that one may use it in good health and with joy. The more you give to tzedakah*, the more you will know success.

With my blessing,
