Igrot Kodesh · Letter 358 — Universal Torah Service in the Age of Mashiach

By the grace of Hashem,

14 Nissan 5708,

To the distinguished Hashem-fearing Chassid,*

Rav N. G.[1],

I greet and bless you,

I duly received your letter of 22 Adar, and I wish by the present letter to send you the Pesach* fascicle, which appeared yesterday. You will no doubt receive it after the festival, but you will nonetheless endeavor to make it available to as many people as possible. One will study the Chassidic* discourse and another the talk;[2] each will comprehend according to his capacity, as the introduction to the Tanya,* based on the Zohar,* explains. But in any case, all will take note of the master's teaching.

It is in this that one is distinguished from Pharaoh, who said: 'Let the men*[3] go and serve Hashem.' But from Moshe* — of whom there is an equivalent in each generation, and especially in that of the 'heel of the Mashiach,'* as the Tikkunei Zohar* notes in Tikkun 69 — we hold that we must be redeemed 'with our young and with our elders, with our sons and with our daughters.' Only in this manner shall 'we hold a festival for Hashem.'

אאשר בזה קבלת מכתבו מכ"ב אדר. ועל של עתה באתי להסג"פ קונטרס לחה"פ שהו"ל אתמול ואף שיתקבל לאחר החג בטח ישתדל לזכות בו את הרבים אם בהמאמר או בהשיחה וכל חד וחד לפום שיעורי דילי' (הקדמת התניא ע"פ הזוהר) אבל בכולם צ"ל נודע בעלה. וי"ל שזהו מחלוקת פרעה שאמר לכו נא הגברים ועבדו את ה', אבל שיטתנו שהתווה לנו משה, שאתפשטותא הוא בכל דרא ודרא ובפרט בדור עקבתא דמשיחא וכמ"ש בת"ז (תי' סט), היא אשר בנערינו בשנים או בחכמה ובזקננו נלך בבנינו ובבנותינו ודוקא עי"ז חג ה' לנו.
