Greetings and blessings,
I have duly received your letter of 7 Sivan*. Obviously, when I said in my previous letter (see letter no. 3446) that a gynecological examination should be avoided, I was referring solely to the period of pregnancy, but not before it or after the birth.
You tell me that you can no longer accept work in the domain of Chabad* because of your material means, which are insufficient. I have already written to several Chassidim* to tell them that one does not work in the domain of Chabad* in order to render a service to our holy master, but primarily for one's own good — not only in the World to Come, but also in this world, in order to obtain health and material prosperity.
Consequently, if one's state of health or means are not what they should be, which Hashem forbid, one of the methods for improving them is to engage more firmly in the domain of Chabad*, and not to claim that one will take the medicine only when the animal soul recognizes its benefit. This is quite evident, and may be compared to the statement of our Sages* that "salt diminishes material means."
May Hashem grant that you perceive this message and put it into practice — and moreover, that you transmit it to your friends.
With my blessing to give good news concerning all of this and for you to earn your livelihood,

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מז' ניסן, ומובן אשר מה שכתבתי במכתבי הקודם שנכון להשתמט מבדיקת פנים, הנה זהו רק בימי עיבור ואינו שייך לפניו ולאחרי ההולדה.
במה שכותב שאינו יכול לקחת עוד עבודה בכרם חב"ד מפני מצב הפרנסה, הנה כבר כתבתי לכמה אנשים מאנ"ש שהעבודה בכפר חב"ד הוא לא שעושים הם טובה לכ"ק נשיאנו הק', אלא בעיקר הוא שעושים טובה לעצמם, ולא רק בעניני עולם הבא אלא גם בעניני עולם הזה בבריאות ובפרנסה, ובמילא אם נמצאים במצב שהבריאות או הפרנסה אינם כדבעי ח"ו, אחת הסגולות להטבתם הוא הוספה בעבות כרם חב"ד, ולא לאמר שלאחר שתכיר הנה"ב התועלת, אזי יקחו התרופה להמצב ופשוט, והוא ע"ד מאמר רז"ל מלח ממון חסר, ויה"ר מהשי"ת שיוקלטו דברי הנ"ל אצלו ע"מ לעשות, ויהי' טופח ע"מ להטפיח גם בחבריו בזה.
