Greetings and blessings,

I received, with pleasure, your letter of the first day of Parshas* Bamidbar*, with the request for blessing it contained. You also communicate the doctor's opinion on your state of health. And may Hashem grant that you go from strength to strength, until you regain all your faculties.

You mention distributing suitable literature within the hospital. One must determine whether it should be donated to the library on the premises, so that a single copy serves many people. Indeed, our means do not allow us to give one to each person and, moreover, there is not much point in doing so. Furthermore, what is free has no value for the person who receives it.

Additionally, one should consult with those who know the state of mind of hospitalized individuals and compile a list of books published by Kehot* that might be suitable for them. Upon receiving this information, we will take the necessary steps.

These days are auspicious, since we are approaching the time of the giving of our Torah*, which brings healing to the world. Indeed, Midrash* Shemos Rabbah* explains at length that all the Jews were in good health and whole when they received the Torah*.

נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מיום א' במדבר עם הפ"נ המוסגר בו, בו כותב אודות חוו"ד הרופא מהטבת מצב בריאותו, ויה"ר אשר הלוך ילך וטוב עדי יחזור לאיתנו..

מ"ש אודות הפצת חומר מתאים בין שכניו בבית הבראה, הנה צריך הי' לברר: א) אם יש יתן הנ"ל בתור מתנה להספרי' דשם בכדי שבטופס אחד ישתמשו בו רבים, כי מובן שאין הקופה מספק[ת] ליתן במתנה לכאו"א וגם אין תועלת בזה כ"כ, ואדרבה מילתא דמגן מגן שויא בעניני המקבל. ב) בהתייעצות עם היודעים תכונת נפש הנמאצים בבית הבראה לערוך רשימה מספרי קה"ת המתאימים בשבילם, וכשיתקבלו ידיעות אלו בטח ישתדלו בזה.

ומסוגלים ימים אלו שמתקרבים אנו לזמן מתן תורתנו המביאה רפואה לעולם, וכמובאר בארוכה גם בשמו"ר שכל ישראל היו בריאים ושלמים לקבלת התורה.
