To the directors of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim*, in Lod*,
May Hashem grant you long life,
Greetings and blessings,
You raise the matter of summer vacation in the Yeshivah's* program. It is, of course, more important (see letters no. 3750 and 3680) that the students be at the Yeshivah* at the end of Elul* and during the Ten Days of Teshuvah*, rather than in Av*.
However, it is quite clear that the vacation cannot extend over Av*, Elul*, and the Ten Days of Teshuvah* all at once.
With my blessing to receive the Torah* with joy and in a profound manner,
