To the young man Shraga Feivish (Rav S. F. Herzog, of Melbourne*, Australia*),

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter, in which you describe your studies at the Yeshivah* and your teaching at the Talmud Torah*. You also mention your desire to travel to America (presumably to continue your studies at the Rebbe's* Yeshivah*).

It is stated at the end of Tractate Kiddushin* that "they were all created to serve me, and I myself was created to serve my Creator." One can conclude from this that all the concerns of the world — and not only those that concern you — depend directly on this service of Hashem.

Hashem has granted you success and has made you His emissary to bring the hearts of Israel closer to our Father Who is in heaven, by teaching Torah* to the students. You also exert a positive influence at the Yeshivah* and the Talmud Torah*. Your concern must therefore be solely to broaden your work to the full extent possible.

Moreover, the Yeshivah* must mobilize all its vital forces in order to develop, quantitatively and qualitatively, as much as possible. As you know, the Alter Rebbe* told one of his Chassidim* (see letter no. 3473) that he must concern himself with the role that was to be his, so that Hashem would provide for what he himself needed. And the same is true for each of us.

You must redouble your diligence and enthusiasm in your own study and in your sacred mission — that of contributing to the development of the Yeshivah* Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak Lubavitch of Melbourne*. In this way, you will increase success and divine blessings in your personal concerns.
