Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter of 13 Iyar*, in which you describe the organization and schedule of study for this summer. Although you do not mention it, you are surely discussing each festival with the students just before it. Likewise, you study its laws and customs in a manner they can understand.

You tell me that the day of the younger students ends with the midday break — that is, presumably around twelve-thirty. One may wonder, however, how they spend the rest of the day, which is in fact the greater part of it. Moreover, some of them are surely of the age about which it is said: "Feed him like an ox." You will no doubt fill in all of this at the next opportunity.
