Greetings and blessings,

You ask me about the plot of land and the construction. You ask whether you should devote yourself to it.

I am surprised that each person asks me this question individually, when I have already answered it for several Chassidim* and asked that my words be publicized (see the preceding letter). I said that the Kfar (Kfar Chabad*) is a communal concern that can also bring success to each individual. The merit of our holy masters, whose merit protects us, comes to one's aid in this regard.

In general, everything that is crooked and proceeds from deception also harms others and is therefore to be excluded. This applies to your situation as well. You should turn over this plot and this house to the Kfar committee. Indeed, in the coming months, you will be working in the domain of Chabad* (in one of its institutions) and will therefore have no use for it.

You must have the conviction that my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, continues his mission on High, that he provides for the needs, material and spiritual, of the Chassidim* in general and of those who work in his institutions in particular. You should therefore not be worried in this area.

Your concern should rather be directed toward what is expected of you. You know, on this subject, the story of a Chassid* of the Alter Rebbe* and what the latter answered him (see letter no. 3473): "You speak of everything you need, but you say nothing of the mission for which you are needed." When this Chassid* changed his conduct, he regained his wealth and even managed to increase it.

The same is true in your case. Hashem will grant you success and breadth of mind, so that you earn your livelihood properly and fulfill your mission to achieve the purpose that has been assigned to you. The Mishnah* says, indeed: "I was created to serve my Creator."

For various reasons, it is preferable that this take place as soon as possible. As I said in my previous letter, you will go as quickly as possible, at a good and fruitful moment, to the place where you are to carry out the mission entrusted to you. In due time, the members of your family, to whom Hashem will grant long life, will join you there in good health and wholeness.

בהנוגע לשאלתו אודות החלקה והבנין אם יתעסקו בזה או לא.

הנה לפלא שכל אחד בפרט שואל, אף שכבר עניתי לכמה מאנ"ש ובקשתי לפרסם את הדבר, והוא, אשר ענין הכפר הוא ענין דרבים, שעי"ז בא גם הצלחת היחיד, וזכות רבוה"ק נשיאנו הק' זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע מסייעת בזה, ולכן כל ענין שהולך בדרך עקלתון ובערמומית בזה, הוא מקום שחב לאחרים, ולכן מושלל הוא, ומזה מובן גם בהנוגע אליו שלדעתי צריך למסור החלקה והדירה לועד הכפר, כיון שבחדשים הבאים יעבוד בכרם חב"ד שלא בשטח מקום זה, ועצם הבטחון אשר כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר עומד ומשמש במרום להשפיע המצטרך הן בגשמיות והן ברוחניות לאנ"ש בכלל, והעובדים במוסדותיו לוקחים חלק בראש, ושאין לו לדאוג על זה, כי אם אויף וואס מען דארף עם (וכידוע הסיפור בחסיד של רבנו הזקן, ופתגם אדמו"ר הזקן,דו זאגסט אלץ וואס דו דארפסט, און אויף וואס דארפמען דיך זאגסטו ניט, וכשהחסיד הנ"ל שינה הנהגתו הנה חזר לעשירותו ועוד יותר), הנה גם בנדון דידי' יצליחו השי"ת בהרחבת הדעת פרנסה כדבעי, ומילוי תפקידו בהשגת התכלית, כפסק המשנה אני נבראתי לשמש את קוני, ומובן שמכמה טעמים ההקדם בכל זה ישובח, וכאמור במכתבי הקודם יסע בהקדם בשעה טובה ומוצלחת למקום עובדתו בקדש, ובזמן המתאים יבואו גם בני ביתו שליט"א לשם בריאים ושלמים.
