Greetings and blessings,
You mention the essential points of Chassidus* and its concepts. In fact, one studies it just as one does any other part of the Torah*.
An analogy will illustrate your question. Would someone who wishes to move from the study of the Mishnah* to that of the Gemara* (see letter no. 3518) ask what the essential points of the latter are? Now, what is true of the Gemara* applies in the same way to Chassidus*. And I have never seen anyone approach the study of the Gemara* or the writings of the early Sages* in this manner.
In my view, there is therefore absolutely no reason to approach the study of Chassidus* in this way, even though it is legitimate to seek a condensed formulation and therefore to pose such a question, in the hope of acquiring these teachings very quickly (literally, "while standing on one foot").
In a certain sense, you will find the essential points of Chassidus* and its concepts in Shaar HaYichud VeHaEmunah*, which is the second part of the Tanya*; in the mitzvah* of faith in Hashem found in the Derech Mitzvosecha* (of the Tzemach Tzedek*); in several chapters of "the source of the mitzvah* of prayer" in the same work; and in the Kuntres Limud Toras HaChassidus* (of the Frierdiker Rebbe*).

... במ"ש אודות הנקודות העיקריות דתורת החסיודת והשקפתה, הנה לימוד תורת החסידות הוא ע"ד לימוד כל חלק וחלק שבתורה, ולמה הדבר דומה, לכשקודם שיתחיל בלימוד גמראה לאחר לימוד המשנה, ישאל לנקודות העיקרים דהגמרא וכו', אשר מובן שאפשר להעלות על הנייר ענין זה הן בנוגע לגמרא והן בנוגע לתורת החסידות. אבל מעולם לא ראיתי גישה כזו בהנוגע ללימוד הגמרא או ראשונים וכו'. ולדעתי אין זה נוגע כלל וכלל בליוד תורת החסידות, אף שמובן שכל אחד מחפש לו דרך קצרה, ובמילא שואל, אפשר שכשילמוד וישיג נקודות העיקריות ילמוד תורה זו על רגל אחת.
במדה חשובה ימצא את הנקודות העיקריות דתורת החסידות והשקפתה, בשער היחוד והאמונה (תניא חלק ב'), מצות האמנת אלקות שבספר דרך מצותיך בכמה פרקים בשרש מצות התפלה שם, ובקונטרס לימוד תורת החסידות.
