Greetings and blessings,

I have finally received your letter from the Sefirah* of Malchus of Gevurah* (the last day of the second week of the Omer*, i.e., 29 Nissan*), which followed, once again, a long interruption. May Hashem grant that you take advantage of the Sefirah* of Netzach* (Victory — corresponding to the fourth week of the Omer*) to overcome the obstacles and veils that prevent a person from serving his Creator, and also to overcome the reasons preventing you from writing detailed letters bearing good tidings, both material and spiritual.

I was pleased to learn that the Seders* (of the first two nights of Pesach*) were organized at the synagogue and that there was, on each Seder* plate, a matzah shemurah*. Chassidus* explains that the revelation of every celebration and every festival must be felt until the next one. No doubt you are therefore endeavoring to strengthen the channel and the vessels that will enable you to preserve the inspiration of the "night of protection" (the first night of Pesach*) throughout the year.

It seems to me that I have already told you that it would be good to put your discourses — which encourage the practice of Torah* and mitzvos* and the fear of Hashem — in writing. In this way, others will also be able to benefit from them, which will not be the case if they remain oral.

You tell me that you may be invited this year to the same place as last year, and I am pleased. In my view, you should not content yourself with this possibility, but rather intervene yourself in this direction, diplomatically, so that the invitation actually reaches you. It is certain that an effort is never in vain, especially when it concerns the young, for whom business dealings and the need to earn a livelihood are still limited or even nonexistent.

On the occasion of the festival of Pesach*, a letter was sent to that woman through your intermediary. If she needs explanations, you will surely find the appropriate words to provide them. In this way, you will have an additional opportunity to show her the importance of what was said and what the Baal Shem Tov* emphasizes — that is, the necessity of serving Hashem joyously. Everything written on this subject is precise. One must serve Hashem, and one must also do so joyously — all the more so since one can verify how, in this manner, the undesirable veils and obstacles are nullified and disappear on their own.

With my blessing to convey good tidings of all the above,

M. Schneerson
