Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of 28 Nissan*, in which you describe the situation of that individual.

On one hand, one must follow the ways of nature and therefore consult a specialist physician, then comply with his prescription, for the Torah* grants the physician the authorization and the power to heal. Additionally, you should have the mezuzos* of their home and his Tefillin* checked, to ensure that they are kosher*. He has no doubt adopted the three daily studies that apply to everyone, instituted by my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. These concern the Chumash*, Tehillim*, and Tanya*.

It would be good for him to give several coins to tzedakah* every weekday before prayer. Furthermore, he should endeavor to put into practice the teaching of our Sages* that "the Sages increase peace in the world." Now, "all your children study Hashem," and you should also consult the introduction of the Chavos Daas* on Yoreh De'ah*, regarding the title of "Sage."

And it is specifically stated that "the Sages increase peace." Now, one can increase without limit, and the more one acts in this direction, the more there is to do, as one can verify in practice. Hashem, Who acts "measure for measure," will therefore also increase peace in all that concerns you — peace in the literal sense, peace here below, as explained in the Likkutei Torah*, in Parshas Matos*, in the discourse entitled "Enlist."

במענה על מכתבו מכ"ח ניסן, בו כותב הוא המצב של וכו'.

הנה נוסף על האחיזה בדרך הטבע שצריך לשאול חוות דעת רופא מומחה במקצוע זה ולמלאות כהוראתו, והתורה נתנה רשות (כח) לרופא לרפאות, הנה עליו לבדוק המזוזות בביתם, וכן את התפילין שלו שיהיו כשרים, ונוסף על שלשת השיעורים השוים לכל נפש מתקנת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה, בחומש תהלים ותניא הידועים שבטח שומר אותם.

הנה מהנכון שבכל יום חול קודם התפלה יתן איזה פרוטות לצדקה, ונוסף על כל הנ"ל ישתדל בקיום מרז"ל שתלמידי חכמים (שכל בניך למודי ה', וראה ג"כ הקדמת החוות דעת ליורה דעה בענין התואר תלמיד חכם) מרבים שלום בעולם, ומבואר הדיוק במלת מרבים שאין לזה שיעור, כי ככל שיתעסק בזה הרי אפשר עוד להוסיף, וכנראה במוחש. ומדתו של הקב"ה מדה כנגד מדה, להרבות השלום בגבולם, שלום כפשוטו ושלום בפמליא של מטה וכו', וכמבואר בלקוטי תורה פרשת מטות בדרוש החלצו.
