Blessings and greetings,

I am responding to your undated letter, in which you discuss your material livelihood and tell me that Hashem enables one to earn a living in any place.

This is indisputably true, and it is clear, consequently, that one cannot set conditions for Him, requesting that this occur precisely in the place one prefers. One must accept the Will of Hashem. A Jew must desire to carry out the mission He entrusts to him, which does not necessarily take place in the location one loves, but rather where one is led by Divine Providence — in order to act there most effectively for Jewish values and for one's fellow. This is how one multiplies the blessings of Hashem for all the needs of every Jew and the members of his family.

Hashem acts "measure for measure," and when one is in a place where few people need help, one is not entitled to request the bestowal of this merit and this blessing. One may, however, hope that Hashem — Who sees that one helps one's fellow, bringing him closer to Torah* and mitzvos*, far more than one would in a place where those who act in this way are numerous — will grant His help in what one needs, in a vastly increased manner.

May Hashem grant that you settle in a positive way, in the place that is fitting in the eyes of Hashem, in the manner that pleases Him. For such a place is the best for accomplishing everything that is needed, materially and spiritually.

במענה למכתבה -ללא תאריך הכתיבה -בו כותבת אודות

הסתדרות ופרנסה שהשי״ת יכול לתת פרנסה בכל מקום וכוי.

בהחלט ,אכן כן הוא ,ולכן מובן גם שאי אפשר להעמיד לפני

הקב״ה שום תנאים ,שזה יהי׳ דוקא במקום שמוצא חן בעיני האדם,

אלא יש לקבל את זה כפי שהשם יתברך רוצה ,ויהודי צריך לרצות

למלא את השליחות של השם יתברך לא דוקא במקום שמוצא חן

בעיניו ,אלא היכן שההשגחה עליונה מביאה אותו ,והיכן שהוא יכול

לפעול יותר בעד היהדות ובעד יהודי נוסף ,שבכך מגדילים את הברכות

מהשי״ת ,במה שיהודי ,הוא ובני ביתו זקוקים.

שכן זוהי דרכו של הקב״ה -מדה כנגד מדה ,כאשר נמצאים

במקום ,היכן שאין רבים כל כך הזקוקים לעזרת הזולת ,אי אפשר

לתבוע את הזכות וברכה .אבל ניתן לקוות שכאשר השי״ת רואה

שמסייעים ליהודי נוסף ,לקרבו לתורה ומצוות ובפרט שזה נעשה

במקום שיש מעטים העוסקים בעבודה כזו ,שהשי״ת יעזור לו במה

שהוא צריך ,כמה פעמים ככה.

והשם יתברך יעזור להם להסתדר בהסתדרות טובה ,ובמקום

שנכון יותר לפני הקב״ה ובאופן שימצא חן בעיני הקב״ה שזהו המקום

הטוב ביותר לכל הנצרכים הן בגשמיות והן ברוחניות.
