Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter from the twelfth day of the Omer*, with its enclosure, for which you will find a receipt enclosed herewith.

I was pleased to learn that you study the pamphlets that are sent to you. No doubt you will do so even more extensively in the future. I am enclosing a discourse from the festival of Pesach* 5703, delivered by my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. It has been reprinted this year.

It is surely unnecessary to remind you of what our Sages* say in Pirkei Avos* regarding the manner of giving tzedakah*. They state that the most elevated way is both to give oneself and to cause others to give. Consequently, you will no doubt give tzedakah* by disseminating among your surroundings, in the appropriate manner, the content of the pamphlets that are sent to you.

When your surroundings strengthen their spiritual health, Hashem will strengthen the physical health of the one who initiated this dissemination.

With my blessing, in accordance with the saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us, that you have "a healthy summer,"

נהניתי ממה שלומד בהקונטרסים הנשלחים לו ובודיא ירבה בזה על להבא, ומוסגר פה שיחת חג הפסח תש"ג מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע שנדפסה השנה עוד הפעם, ובודאי למותר לעורו על המאמר רז"ל בפרקי אבות, במדות שבנותני צדקה שהתכלית הוא יתן ויתנו אחרים, ולכן בודאי יעשה צדקה בתוכן הקונטרסים הנשלחים לו שיפרסמם בסביבתו באופן המתאים, וכשיתרבה בבריאות הרוחניות בסביבתו יחזק השי"ת בריאות המתעסק בזה גם בגשמיות.
