To the great Rav, the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Ephraim Eliezer HaKohen (Rav E. E. Yalles, of Philadelphia; see letters no. 3160, 3589, 3685, and 3707),

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter of the 27th (the Rebbe writes "zach" — "pure" — whose numerical value is twenty-seven) of Nissan*. As you requested, I mentioned all those you cite at the conclusion of the "month of radiance" and on the eve of the Rosh Chodesh* of radiance (Nissan* and Iyar*), according to the expression of the Tosafos* on Tractate Rosh Hashanah* 2b, at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us — one of those who brings radiance to the world.

In accordance with his well-known saying (that of the previous Rebbe), I conclude by wishing you "a healthy and joyous summer." You will convey good tidings of everything you cite in your letter.
