[1st day of Chol HaMoed* Pesach* 5715]

I am responding to your letter of 7 Nissan*, in which you tell me that you sometimes pray in various synagogues. In certain ones, they do not allow you to study Mishnah* and then recite a Kaddish* (in accordance with the custom of mourners). They object that one should not multiply the number of Kaddish* recitations (see letter no. 3260).

I am particularly surprised by such an objection, for this is a well-known and widespread practice in all Jewish communities. It is therefore quite clear that one does not multiply the Kaddish* recitations in this manner. Our Sages* state in Tractate Sotah* 49a that "the world endures on the Yehei Shmei Rabba* of the Aggadah*" — which includes the Mishnah* as well, as the Decisors clarify. It is solely in this way that one is saved and protected in the intense darkness of this era of Ikvesa d'Meshicha* (the footsteps of Moshiach*).

No doubt you will explain all of this to them.
