Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter from the beginning of Shevat*, which reached me belatedly. I have mentioned your name and those of all the members of your family at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. Without doubt, he will invoke Divine mercy so that you obtain the satisfaction of all your needs, material and spiritual.

I am pleased with what you report of your communal activities. You say that you do not observe their results immediately. It is clear that this complaint emanates from "the other side," which knows how to skillfully choose the arguments liable to convince each person, as stated in the Hayom Yom*, at the entry for 23 Sivan*.

One can determine the origin of these arguments by observing whether they obstruct Torah* and mitzvos*, or weaken them. If this is indeed the case, they truly emanate from "the other side," and you should dismiss them entirely. You should redouble your ardor in your teaching and in your personal study.

We are "workers of the day," and Hashem will do what is right in His eyes. No doubt you will observe success when the time comes. As the verse states, Hashem caused everything to come about in its proper time.

What has just been set forth also establishes that your fears, which you describe in your letter, are nothing but the product of the cunning and stratagems of the yetzer hara*. That is its very reason for being. You must therefore become angry with it, as the Tanya* explains. Then it will melt like wax. You will become aware of the truth and will observe that Hashem watches over you, as He does over every Jew, granting you His Providence. You can therefore place your trust in Him.

As the festival of Matzos* approaches, coming for us and for all of Yisrael* for good, I wish you a kosher* and joyous celebration, together with all the members of your family.

במענה על מכתבו מתחלת שבט - שנתקבל באיחור זמן - הנה הזכרתיו ואת כל ב"ב שיחיו על הציון הק' של מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, ובודאי יעורר ר"ר עליהם בהמצטרך להם בגשמיות וברוחניות.

נהניתי ממ"ש אודות עסקנותו, ומה שמתאונן שאינו נראה פירות על אתר וכו' - מובן שהתאוננות זהו באה מהלעומת זה, אשר אומן גדול הוא ובא לכל אחד ואחד בפיתויים כאלו שתקותו להצליח בהם, וכמבואר בהיום יום לכ"ג סיון שהבחינה בזה היא שאם הענינים מבלבלים ומחלישים בהפועל של תורה ומצוה, מקורם הוא מהצד שכנגד, ובמילא יבטלם לגמרי ויוסיף בהתעמולה ובהלימוד שלומר ברבים ולעצמו כו' וכו'.

ואנן פועלי דיממא אנן, והשי"ת יעשה הטבו בעניניו. ובטח יראה ג"כ הצלחה בזמן המתאים. וכמ"ש את הכל עשה יפה בעתו. וע"פ הנ"ל מובן ג"כ, אשר אותם הפחדים שיש לו שכותב אודותם יסודם רק בערמומית ותחבולות היצה"ר, וזהו כל מציאותו, ובמילא לכשירעים בקול רעש ורוגז וכמבאר בתניא הרי כדונג ימס, ויראה את האמת אשר השי"ת משגיח עליו, כמו על כאו"א מישראל, בהשגחה פטית ובמילא נכון יהי' לבו בטוח בה'.

ולקראת חג המצות הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה הנה יחוגו אותו הוא וכל ב"ב שיחיו בכשרות ובשמחה.
