Greetings and blessings,
I am responding to your letter of the 24th of Adar* and to the one that preceded it.
A) Concerning the organization of the Yeshivah*, you surely know the perspective of Chabad*, which is not that of Mussar*. It may happen that one gives moral instruction and even employs terms that are not intended to please. Nevertheless, such instruction is then not a goal in itself but only the expression of a hope that these words will have a concrete effect. These words should enable a situation to be changed when necessary.
B) As for instituting a fine for negligent students, everything depends on the effect this will have and the result one can expect from it. You will make a decision based on the assessment you make according to these criteria.

א) בהנוגע לסדרי הישיבה, הנה בטח ידוע לו דרך חב"ד שאין הוא דרך המוסר, ומה שאורמים לפעמים דברי התוערארות וגם בביטוים שאינם מוסיפים תענוג, הוא לא לרגלי אהבת הטפת מוסר אלא בתקוה שזהו ענין של פועל, שע"י אמירת דברים אלו ישתנה המצב אם דורש הוא שינוי...
- בהנוגע להנהיג ענין קנס וכיו"ב ביחס לת' המתרשלים וכו' - תלוי בהרושם, והתועלת שיש לקוות מזה. וצריך להחליט בהתאם לההשערה בזה...
