Greetings and blessings,

The Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, devotes himself to communal needs, and multiplies positive accomplishments — Rav Ch. M. A. Hadakov (Rav Chaim Mordechai Aizik Hadakov, director of the Rebbe's secretariat) — transmitted your note to me. As you request, I will mention your name, those of the members of your family, and those you cite in your letter at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us. For your part, you will surely forge the channels and vessels that will enable you to elicit and absorb the blessings you seek.

Our Sages comment, in Tractate Berachos 8a, on the verse: "He is an exalted Elokim* and does not turn away" (from what emanates from the community). I am therefore surprised that you rely solely on your own forces and do not participate in Chassidic gatherings*.

Referring to a single friend, the Mitteler Rebbe* states (see letter no. 2393) that one pits two Divine souls against a single animal soul (when one consults that friend). How much more so is this the case at a Chassidic gathering, since "whenever ten people are assembled..." (the Divine Presence is revealed).

When you are alone, no one can say anything to you or address a reproach arising from a feeling of deep love. Yet, as is the practice in this country, one pats people on the shoulder and multiplies compliments. What follows from all this is quite clear.

May Hashem grant you the merit of developing your study of Chassidus*, which will be intensive. This will enable you to advance from one stage to the next, in accordance with the hope placed by our holy masters in those who find themselves within their four cubits.

הרה"ח הוו"ח אי"א נו"נ עוסק בצ"צ רב פעלים מוהרחמ"א שי' חדקוב מסר לי הפתקא שלו, וכבקשתו אזכיר אותו ואת ב"ב שיחיו וכן את אלו שכותב אודותם על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, ובודאי מצדו הוא יעשה את הצנורות והכלים להמשיך ולקבל הברכות שמעורר ר"ר עליהם.

וע"פ דרז"ל על הכתוב הן אל כביר לא ימאס (ברכות ח' ע"א) הנה לפלא שסומך על כחות עצמו ואינו נמצא בהתועדות חסידיות, ואם בהנוגע לחבר אחד אמר כ"ק אדמו"ר האמצעי שזהו שתי נפה"א על נפש הבהמית אחת, עאכו"כ בהתועדות חסידותית דאכל בי' עשרה וכו', וכשנמצא בבדידות היינו באין מי שיאמר מלה של תוכחת מגולה מאהבה מסותרת, וכמנהג מדינה זו, הרי פאטשט מען אין פלייצע ומרבים בהלל ותשבחות, מובן התוצאות מסדר כזה.

והשי"ת יזכהו שיוסיף בלימוד תורת החסידות בשופי וזה יעזור לו הליכה מחיל אל חיל מתאים לתקות רבותנו נשיאנו הק' מאלו שזכו להיות בד' אמות שלהם.
