To the Rav*, distinguished Chassid* of many accomplishments,

Rav A. Chanoch (the Rav Avraham Chanoch Glitsenstein, of Yerushalayim*; see letter no. 2989 regarding him),

Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter, which was undated, in which you mention the newspapers that published articles about the Hilulah* (of the Frierdiker Rebbe*, on the 10th of Shevat*). I commend you for what was accomplished and for what you will accomplish. However, one must not be content with what has been obtained — quite the contrary. For if the mobilization until now has yielded all this, how much more will increased engagement and effort produce results. And that which is self-evident needs no proof.

You mention the publication of a discourse. I have already written to you (see letter no. 3162) what conditions must be fulfilled for this. The text must be reproduced in a customary style, avoiding the repetitions that are, by contrast, necessary when these words are delivered orally — for example, on account of newcomers. It must also be specified that it is a free translation that has not been reviewed (by the Rebbe). Under these conditions, such an initiative is very positive.

May Hashem grant that you succeed in spreading the wellsprings* (of Chassidus*) ever more broadly outward. Without a doubt, you will thereby receive increased blessing and success in your personal concerns.

In accordance with the letter of the 22nd and 24th of Teves*, you will surely send here the weekly Panim El Panim ("Face to Face") and the book Yechidei Segulah ("Those Who Belong to an Elite").

I have already emphasized on several occasions that it would be beneficial to explain to authors and publishers of all types the advantage, for them, of making their publications available to our library here.

במענה על מכתבו (בלי הוראת זמן הכתיבה) בו כותב אודות העתונים שנדפס בם בקשר עם יום ההילולא. הנה יישר כחו על כל מה שעשה בזה ויישר חילו גם על להבא ולא להסתפק בשביעת רצון מהנ"ל אלא אדרבה, ובמכש"כ וק"ו ומה בהתעוררות דעד עתה פעלו הנ"ל, הרי עאכו"כ כשירבו בהתעוררות ובהתאמצות, הרי תגדלנה הפעולות כ"פ ככה והמפורסמות אינן צריכים ראי'.

מ"ש אודות הדפסת שיחה, הרי כבר כתבתי לו שבהגדרות מסוימות היינו שתהי' העתקה בסגנון שוטף, ובהשמטת כפילות דברים (המוכרחות בעת השיחה מפני ביאת פנים חדשות וכיו"ב) ובהודעה שזוהי העתקה חפשית ובלתי מוגה כדאי ונכון הדבר, והשי"ת יצליחו לעשות יותר ויותר בהפצת המעיינות חוצה שבודאי ימשיך זה תוספת ברכה והצלחה בעניניו הפרטים.
