Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of the 25th of Shevat* and to those that preceded it. Likewise, I received the request for a blessing for you and for the members of your family. I was pleased to see that you yourself observe the development of the Yeshivah* (of Melbourne, Australia; see letter no. 3000 on this subject). Consequently, this development and what results from it must be considerably expanded.

You say that it lacks a spiritual guide worthy of the name. Now, if one were to be distressed by what is lacking, I wonder whether anyone would still set to work. Indeed, perfection exists only Above. I have already written several times that, inasmuch as Divine Providence* has led you to a certain place, it is certain that the forces necessary for that place and at that time have indeed been granted to you.

One must therefore make full use of these forces, which will thereby be increased. Thus, our Mishnah* specifies: "It is not incumbent upon you to complete the work." Nevertheless, "you are not free to desist from it."

Moreover, the time is short, for "he (Moshiach*) stands behind our wall" and "the work is considerable." But, obviously, one must mobilize all the Chassidim* in your city. Not only must each one contribute to the Yeshivah, but furthermore, it must be strengthened from time to time, for everything that belongs to the domain of holiness* grows.

No doubt you will continue the effort regarding the books, as you write. I thank you in advance.

I send you my blessing of Mazel Tov* on the occasion of the birth of your grandson, who shall live a long life, together with my blessing of success in your sacred mission, in good health and in joy, in accordance with this month (of Adar*), in which joy is intensified.

שלום וברכה!

במענה על מכתבו מכ"ה שבט, והקודמים. כן נתקבלו הפ"נ שלו ושל ב"ב שי', נהניתי לקרות בו שגם הם רואים התפתחות הישיבה. ובודאי יוסיפו בעסקנות בזה להבא, ובמילא תתוסף בההתפתחות והתוצאות כ"פ ככה.

ומה שכותב שחסר משפיע כדבעי כו' וכו' - הנה אם היו מתחשבים בהענינים החסרים תמיהני אם מי שהוא הי' נגש לעבודה, כי הרי אין שלימות אלא למעלה כו'.

וכבר כתבתי כ"פ, שכיון שההשגחה העליונה הביאתם למקום פלוני, בודאי ניתנו להם הכחות כפי הנצרך באותו מקום באותו זמן, ובלבד שינצלו יכולת זו במילואה (שאז אפשר יתוסף גם ביכולת. וע"ד המובא בענין תלמוד תורה שלאחר שיגעים ולומדים ככל האפשרי מצד האדם - לפעמים זה גופא מוסיף ביכלתו וכו'). וכפסק משנתנו אשר אף דאין עליך המלאכה לגמור, הנה אין אתה רשאי להפטר ממנה.

ובפרט שהזמן קצר, כי הנה זה עומד אחר כתלנו, והמלאכה מרובה. אבל מובן ופשוט, שצריך לגייס (מאביליזירען) את כל אנ"ש הנמצאים במחנם הט', שלא לבד שכל אחד צריך להשתתף בענין הישיבה, אלא שצריך להוסיף עוד בזה מזמן לזמן, כי הרי דבר שבקדושה הוא הולך וגדול...

בוודאי ימשיך בענין הספרים כמו שכותב, ות"ח מראש.

בברכת מז"ט להולדת הנכד שליט"א. ובברכת הצלחה בעבודתו בקודש ומתוך בריאות הנכונה ושמחה - מתאים לחדש זה שמחה בריבוי,
