I greet you and bless you,

I respond to your question. You ask me whether you should go to the Holy Land*, may it be restored and rebuilt very soon and in our days by our righteous Moshiach*. Indeed, your parents, who are in Morocco, desire to settle there.

The answer to this question has already been given. For if one who is in the Holy Land* generally does not have the right to leave the country, but may nevertheless do so to study Torah*, as stated by the Rambam*, Laws of Kings, Chapter 8, paragraph 9 — how much more so is this the case for one whom Hashem has granted the success of being a student in a Yeshivah* in which the revealed dimension of the Torah — its body — and Chassidus* — its soul — are united.

You must therefore continue your studies with ardor and passion, without heeding the advances of the yetzer hara*, which desires to trouble you and lead you to interrupt your study of our Torah — the Torah of life. And this yetzer hara* presents its arguments to you in the guise of fear of Hashem, thus wishing to better deceive you.

I have already written to several of your friends, asking them to continue their study of our Torah, the Torah of life. And Hashem, Who gives the Torah, will expand His blessing for those who study it and for all the members of their family.

במענה על שאלתו אם יסע לאה"ק תבנה ותכונן במהרה בימינו על ידי משיח צדקנו כיון שהוריו ממרוקה רוצים לנסוע לשם. הרי כבר דינו אמור, ובמכל שכן וקל וחומר, ומה הנמצא כבר באה"ק ת"ו שאסורה היציאה משם, יוצא מארץ ישראל לחוץ לארץ ללמוד תורה (רמב"ם הלכות מלכים פרק ה' הלכה ט') על אחת כמה וכמה מי שהצליחו השי"ת ללמוד בישיבה בה מתאחדים לימוד תורת הנגלה גופא דאורייתא ולימוד תורת החסידות נשמתא דאורייתא, שצריך הוא להמשיך בזה בהתמדה ושקידה, ולא לשמוע לפיתויי היצר שרוצה לבלבלו ולהפסיקו מלימודו בתורתנו תורת חיים ומלביש - הוא היצר הרע - טענותיו במסוה של יראת שמים, אולי יעלה בידו לרמות אותו, וכבר כתבתי לכמה מחבריו שיחיו אשר עליהם להמשיך בלימוד תורתנו תורת חיים ועל השי"ת נותן התורה להוסיף בברכתו להלומדים ולבני משפחתם.
