Igrot Kodesh · Letter 324 — Communal Activism and Hope Amid Wartime Crisis

By the grace of Hashem,

Hillula* of the Admur HaZaken*[1],

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav I.[2],

I send you my greetings and blessings.

I am replying to your letter written on Monday of Parashat Vayechi*:

A) You have surely received my previous correspondence. Please confirm this. We will send you the publications as you requested, together with the Siddur*, through Rav C. Zalmanov[3].

B) Correspondence received today informs us that those in Poland have received visas[4]. They hope that the sick ones among them will be healed[5] as early as next week.

C) You are no doubt participating in the activities of Merkaz L'Inyanei Chinuch* and Machaneh Yisrael*. I will be glad, the next time I speak about you to my father-in-law, the Rebbe, to be able to cite some of your actions before him.

Consult the Siddur* at the gate of Lag BaOmer*, according to which a Tzaddik*, on the day of his Hillula*, ascends to the highest level he ever attained. He then brings elevation to all the accomplishments of his lifetime. The Tanya* specifies that it is then easier for his disciples to receive their portion[6]. The Siddur* adds that this portion can far exceed the nature of those disciples.

ב) בינתיים בודאי קיבל מכתבי הקודם. ויאשר קבלתו. הנדפסים יושלחו לו כבקשתו, ע"י הסידור עם הר"ש זלמנוב.

ג) היום נתקבל מכ' שהנמצאים בפולין קבלו תעודות, ואשר תקותם שהחולים שם ירפאו שבוע הבא.

ד) בודאי מתעסק ומשתתף בעניני המל"ח או מחנה ישראל - ואשמח אם, כשאדבר אודותיו לפני כ"ק מו"ח אד"ש בפעם הבאה, אוכל להודיע איזה פרטים מפעולותיו. וראה בסידור דרושי ל"ג בעומר שביום ההילולא עולה בעל ההילולא לראש כל המדרי' שלו ועולה גם מה שעסק כל ימיו ובאגה"ק סכ"ח שאז נקל מאד לתלמידיו לקבל חלקם ובסי' שם שיכול להיות גם בדבר שאינו מערכו ומהותו כו'.
