To the great Rav, learned chassid*, Hashem-fearing,

Rav Y.[1],

I greet and bless you,

I am responding to your letter, which bore no date. As you expressed the wish, I have asked that all the latest publications be sent to you in a separate package. I do not know what you have already received, and you should therefore consult the list of our publications appearing at the end of the Sefer HaKitzurim*[2]. You will let me know whether additional books need to be sent to you and, if so, in how many copies.

I take this opportunity to emphasize, again and again, the immense importance of organizing in your country the dissemination of our publications, works of Chassidut*, books in English. The latter are particularly necessary, since they make it possible to counter the spread of books in the English language that run contrary to Torah and Tradition.

You should consult the chassidic discourse delivered this year on 19 Kislev, which details the various means of driving away evil. There is no need to say more. I am certain that a lengthy exposition would be of no use to you, and I will therefore be brief.

You ask me for a definition of the three totally impure forces of evil and what distinguishes them. I reproduce here what I wrote to someone who asked me this question. This will also enable you to respond to a question that arises regarding the Tanya*[3].

Enclosed you will find a fascicule whose printing was completed yesterday.

I also enclose a letter of enrollment for the writing of the Sefer Torah*[4].

במענה על מכתבו (בלי הוראת הזמן) - כפי בקשתו צויתי לשלוח לו, בחבילה מיוחדת, מכל מה שהו"ל בזמן האחרון. וכיוון שלא נודע עד איזה זמן קבל הנדפסים כסדרן יראה ברשימת הוצאותינו שבסוף ס' הקיצורים ויודיע אם לשלח לו עוד וכמה עקז' מכאו"א.

ואשתמש בהזדמנות זו לעורר עוה"פ ועוה"פ על הנחיצות הגדולה לארגן במדינתו הפצת הנדפסים (הן בדא"ח הן בל' אנגלית. והאחרון נחוץ ביותר, כי עי"ז יש פתח ותקוה לדחות הספרות בשפה האנגלית הכתובה היפך התורה והמסורה). וראה במאמר יוט"כ דהאי שתא איך שכל העצות טובות להגיע לסו"מ. וד"ל. ומבטחוני שאין צריך אריכות לדכוותי' בענין זה אקצר.
