Igrot Kodesh · Letter 303 — Kehot Publishing Authorization and European Distribution

Volume 2 · Letter 137

By the grace of Hashem,

Second day of Chol HaMoed*

Sukkot* 5708,

To the distinguished Chassid*, Hashem-fearing,

Rav M. Perlov[1],

I greet and bless you,

We duly received your letter of 20 Elul* 5707, and regarding what you write to me about publications, I bring the following to your attention:

A) In accordance with the instructions of my father-in-law[2], the Rebbe* Shlita*, no one has the right to reprint any book of Chassidut* or any of our educational books without having obtained authorization from Kehot* publishing house in Brooklyn, New York.

B) When I was in Paris, I entrusted the responsibility for printing in Germany to Rav David Bravman[3]. I have already indicated to him what he should have printed.

C) If there is an opportunity to publish books also in your country, please inform us and send us proposals. The matter must be organized, and there is no point in printing the same books in two places.

D) For the moment, do not print anything.

Enclosed you will find a Chassidic* discourse published recently.

Wishing you all the best,

Rav Menachem Schneerson,
Director of the Executive Committee[4],

So as not to transgress the sanctity of the festival, this letter is unsigned.
