Greetings and blessing,
You tell me that you think of learning by heart some of the letters (sent by the Rebbe). There is no need to do so.
Indeed, the students (of the Yeshivah of Montreal) and the Chassidim must make a distinction between these and what one effectively learns by heart, that is to say, the Tanya* and the Chassidic discourses. One must therefore not devalue this practice by also studying the letters by heart.
With my blessing so that you give good news of all that, as soon as possible,
P.S.: I enclose the continuation of the account of the imprisonment (of the previous Rebbe, who was liberated on 12 Tammuz). It has been edited on the occasion of the liberation festival, which approaches. You will also find there my proposal, concerning the study of Chassidic discourses, during this period. You will kindly diffuse it, in all the measure of the possible.

... מ"ש שיש סברא אצלו שיחזרו בע"פ איזה מהמכתבים. הנה אין לעשות כזה, כי אצל התלמידים ואפי' אצל אנ"ש צריכה להיות הבדלה שחוזרים בע"פ תניא ומאמרי דא"ח ואין לגרוע ביחסם לזה ע"י שימציאו להם לחזור גם מכתבים בע"פ.
