To my close relative, the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,

and to his wife, the Rebbetzin Gisya,

Greetings and blessing,

I received your letter of 27 and 28 Sivan. I thank you for announcing to me a good piece of news, that of the birth of the son of your nephew. May Hashem grant that his parents educate him to Torah, to chuppah*, and to good deeds. And, Hashem will accord you to always announce good news.

You ask me about the Tanya*, chapter 7, page 11b, which says: "as Rava did for his students." It is indeed here Rava, with an Alef, and not Rabbah, with a Heh (who are two different Sages of the Talmud).

Such is the version of Rabbeinu Chananel, on tractate Pesachim 117a, as well as in the Yalkut Shimoni, Melachim II, paragraph 227.

On the occasion of the festival of the liberation of 12 and 13 Tammuz, which approaches, you will doubtless organize a Chassidic gathering, in the manner that befits. This will have a concrete contribution, in the domain of Jewish practice, in general, and of Chassidus*, in particular. And, it is certain that an effort is never in vain.

ולימי הגאולה י"ב וי"ג תמוז הבע"ל הרי בודאי יסדרו התועדות באופן המתאים ובאופן שיבוא לידי פועל בעניני יהדות בכלל ובעניני חסידות בפרט וחזקה לתעמולה שאינה חוזרת ריקם.

בברכת הצלחה בכל הנ"ל מתוך בריאות הנכונה.
