Greetings and blessing,
I reply to your letter of 14 Sivan.
Before the giving of the Torah, the fact of being "an inconsiderate people" (one who commits to put into practice that of which he has no full knowledge) was held to be a quality (since the children of Yisrael, by this fact, were able to say: "We will do and [afterwards] we will understand"), as our Sages explain in tractate Shabbos 89a. It is not the same after this giving, in the action of every day, as Chassidus* explains in commenting on the blessing of the Torah figuring in the morning blessings, "Blessed be You Hashem, Who gives the Torah," in the present.
It is clear that a permanent work must be well organized, must not have an inconsiderate character. You must therefore earn your living by furnishing the effort that befits, without being troubled by the idea of working for the Yeshivah*.
When the situation of the Yeshivah* improves, as you write in your letter, it will be time to envisage the details of the work that you can carry out there and, more globally, the decision that it will be fitting to take.
May Hashem strengthen you so that you keep scrupulously the time consecrated to the study of the revealed part of Torah and Chassidus*. This will enlarge the blessing and the success of Hashem, which will permit you to earn your living.

במענה על מכתבו מי"ד סיון, הנה אף שקודם קבלת התורה הנה עמא פזיזא הי' מעלה וכמבואר ברז"ל (שבת פט, ע"א) אבל בכלל לאחר קבלת התורה (והכוונה בזה גם בכל יום ויום וכמבואר בדא"ח בדיוק בברכת התורה בברכות השחר נותן התורה לשון הווה) ובפרט בעבודה תמידית צ"ל מסודרה ובלי פזיזות ובמילא עליו להתעסק בעניני פרנסתו עתה בהשתדלות המתאימה מבלי שתבלבל בשעת מעשה הסברא להכנס בעבודת הישיבה, וכשישתפר המצב בהישיבה כמ"ש במכתבו הרי אז הזמן לחשוב בפרטי ואופני עבודה שם וכן ע"ד החלטה בכללות והשי"ת יחזקו בשמירת הקביעות עתים בתורת הנגלה והחסידות שגם זה יוסיף ברכה והצלחה בעניני פרנסתו.
