Greetings and blessing,
Various texts of Chassidus* explain that, after the sin of the tree of knowledge, the good and the evil mixed in everything. The service of Hashem, such as it is defined by Chassidus*, consists in reinforcing the side of the good and the light. This service can therefore be penetrated with great joy. It is not the same when one borrows the way of mussar*, of ethics, which is based on the Injunction "Turn aside from evil" and therefore provokes sadness.
And, what has just been said applies, in the same manner, to people. One must, in all the measure of the possible, profit from their qualities and from their aptitudes. In this way, the negative aspects disappear, of themselves or at the price of a slight effort.
This principle applies to all those who work within an institution of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us. Each of them must offer to all those who share this activity with him the possibility of using their capacities, encourage them and motivate them in this sense. Thus, the defects disappear, even where they existed previously.
I have already written that immense realizations can be obtained in the domain of Chabad. Each one can find there what suits him, use his potential fully without putting in question the so-called respect that he owes to his fellow and, a fortiori, that which effectively belongs to him. Nevertheless, in all these domains, the receptacle containing the blessing is peace and closeness.
It is clear that the goal of the present is not to moralize, but indeed to reinforce and to encourage. Each one possesses in himself considerable forces that have not yet been used, for accessory reasons. If all assume with self-sacrifice this sacred mission, I am convinced that, in little time, they will themselves be surprised not to have arrived earlier at the evidence.
When all join their forces, one can decuple and illuminate the accomplishments and, in consequence, the moral satisfaction that one draws from them, an increased attachment to the tree of life, and a more abundant blessing, in the personal needs of each one and of all the members of the family.
It is absolutely excluded to set anyone aside from this sacred mission. First of all, one thereby distances a Jew from the tree of life. Moreover, the final result that must be obtained would then be put in question. It is surely useless to say more.
With my blessing,
