Greetings and blessing,
I reply to your letter of 29 Iyar.
You will intensify your study of Torah and your prayer (literally: multiply the words of them, in order to atone for what occurred). And you will strive to engrave the words in your spirit. You will learn at least a few chapters of Mishnah* and of Tanya*, as well as the Chassidic discourse entitled "Mipnei seivah takum," which figures in the Likkutei Torah, at the end of parshas* Kedoshim.
Every Monday and Thursday, before the morning prayer, you will give a coin or two to tzedakah*. And, in all the measure of the possible, you will strive to influence the youth, to draw their hearts close to our Father Who is in Heaven.
Moreover, and this is essential, you will no longer think of this transgression, not even of the means of repairing it. To act in such a manner is a favorable practice, a means of rectifying what has occurred. When you serve Hashem joyously, you will feel, little by little, that your situation improves. May Hashem grant that you commit yourself as quickly as possible on this way.
It is surely useless to recall to you the necessity of maintaining the three studies that concern each one and that have been instituted by my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us. They bear on Chumash*, Tehillim*, and Tanya*, and they are well known.

שלום וברכה!
במענה על מכתבו מכ"ט אייר, הנה ירבה באותיות התורה והתפלה וישתדל שיהיו חקוקים במוחו לכל הפחות איזה פרקים משניות ואיזה פרקים תניא, והדרוש ד"ה והדרת פני זקן בלקוטי תורה סוף פ' קדושים. כן יפריש בכל יום שני וחמישי קודם התפלה בבקר פרוטה או שתים לצדקה, וישתדל כפי האפשרי בהשפעה על הנוער לקרב את לבם לאבינו שבשמים. נוסף על כל זה, והוא העיקר, שיסיח דעתו מהעון ואפילו מתיקונו, אשר כל הנ"ל הוא סגולה ותיקון לכשיעבוד את השי"ת בשמחה הרי לאט לאט ירגיש בהטבת מצבו. ויהי רצון שההתחלה בזה תהי' בקרוב.
ובודאי למותר להעירו על שמירת שלשת השיעורים השוים לכל נפש מתקנת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע והם בחומש תהלים ותניא הידועים.
