To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,

Greetings and blessing,

I received your letter of 19 Iyar. After you have observed, on the same basis as all the chassidim*, the immense success of the Yeshivah* (of Melbourne, in Australia), which has succeeded in finding a building and acquiring it, I am surprised to note that you are seized by multiple doubts, each time you must take a step.

You write, in your letter, that you have not the slightest idea of the manner in which you must set yourself to work. Yet, you have led this activity for several years already. You have brought close to Jewish practice persons from whose part you would never have imagined such an approach. Moreover, the children have also joined themselves to your action.

In the country where you found yourself previously (Soviet Russia), one risked one's life in leading such an action. In spite of this, one devoted oneself to the education of others and one did not impose conditions on the Creator, demanding of Him that He perform miracles at every step and declaring oneself incapable of acting if He does not do so. How much more must this be the case in the country where you find yourself currently, since it is possible there to lead such an action while taking the ways of nature. What is more, miracles are not rare there. But one must reflect somewhat and open one's eyes to observe them.

I learned with pleasure that you met, during your visit to Sydney, several young men who were students of the Oholei Yosef Yitzchak schools. Doubtless you will maintain contact, by corresponding with them. You will also try to bring them back to the Yeshivah*, at least for some time.

You tell me that the Feiglin family conserved, by way of memento, the checks that were sent from here for the Yeshivah*, and contributed the equivalent, with an addition, to the account of the Yeshivah*. If the direction of this institution gives its accord, this poses no problem.

In the expectation of your good news in all these domains, with my blessing for success in your sacred mission, as well as for the members of your family, and so that you receive the Torah in a joyous and profound manner,

P.S.: A Chassidic gathering surely took place during Pesach* and on Lag BaOmer. You will do likewise during Shavuos. I thank you for giving me details on this subject.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מי"ט אייר, ולפלא עליו שלאחר שראה, הוא וכן כללות אנ"ש, הצלחה מופלגה בענין הישיבה במציאות הבנין וקנינו כו', הנה על כל צעד ושעל עדיין מלאים הם ספיקות, וכלשונו במכתבו, אין להם שום ציור ובאיזה אופן לגשת אל העבודה - וזה לאחרי שמתעסקים בזה איזה שנים, ונתקרבו בע"ב, כאלו שמראש לא פללו לזה, נוסף על הענין שגם ילדי ה... נצטרפו עליהם כו' וכו'. וכ"ש וק"ו - ומה במדינתם לפנים, שהי' הדבר קשור במס"נ, הרי התעסקו בחינוך ולא התנו תנאים עם הבורא ית' שיראה נסים על כל צעד וצעד ובא"ל א"א להמשיך בעבודה, עאכו"כ במדינתם עתה, שאפילו בדרך הטבע ישנה אפשריות להמשיך בהדבר, ועאכו"כ שאין מקמצים בנסים - אלא שצריך להתבוננות קלה ופקיחת עינים במקצת עכ"פ...

נהניתי ממ"ש אשר במשך ביקורו בסידני נפגש עם כמה אברכים מי שהיו תלמידי אהלי"י מלפנים, ובודאי גם להבא יעמוד עמהם בקשר מכתבים ולהשתדל ג"כ שיחזרו להישיבה לכה"פ על משך איזה זמן.

מ"ש אשר משפחת פייגלין שיחיו השאירו ההמחאות ששלחו מכאן בשביל הישיבה אצלם לזכרון, והכניסו להבאנק ע"ח הישיבה חילופם ובאיזה תוספת. הנה אם הנהלת הישיבה נתנה הסכמתה על כך הרי יישר חילם. המחכה לבשו"ט בכל הנ"ל ובברכת הצלחה בעבודתו בקדש ובעניניו הפרטים, הוא וכל ב"ב שיחיו ולקבלת התורה בשמחה ובפנימיות.
