To my relative, the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, issued from an illustrious family,

Greetings and blessing,

You ask me who, among the chassidim* of your environment, is fit to put order in the manuscripts (of the addressee's father, Rav David Tzvi Chen). It is necessary to verify this on the spot, for my relation with these chassidim* is uniquely epistolary. I therefore do not know their capacities in this domain.

I shall not teach you that these manuscripts have undergone diverse vicissitudes. They must therefore be protected, even when it is a matter of putting them in order. They must not pass through foreign hands, for Hashem does not perform a useless miracle (in saving them from these foreign hands, while it would suffice to have them protected by men). The domain of evil is constituted of what is "gratuitous," and concerning it, it is not necessary to practice mitzvos*.

The word "foreign," in this case, must not be interpreted as in the sequence of Chassidic discourses Vehecherim 5631 (1871, by the Rebbe Maharash), that is, foreign uniquely in this domain. You will consult the end of the discourse entitled Vehecherim.

One is currently publishing discourses of the tzaddik*, Rabbi Hillel of Paritch, on the book of Shemos. We dispose here of a fascicle put in order on the model of Pelach HaRimon (by the same author), on Bereishis. I would therefore like to know if there are, in the discourses found in the manuscripts that you mention, texts on Shemos in which figure additions. Certainly, the book that I have is already ready to be printed. Much more, the various corrections that have been made show that it has even been controlled by the censorship.

As you ask me, I will mention your name and that of the persons whom you cite in your letter near the holy tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us. May Hashem grant to each one of us the possibility to give good news, material and spiritual.

... בשאלתו מי מאנ"ש הנמצאים בסביבתו מוכשרים ומסוגלים להעבודה בסידור הביכלעך, הנה צריך לברר את זה על אתר כי ההיכירות שלי אתם הוא ע"י מכתבים ובמילא אינני מכירם בהנוגע לענין הנ"ל ובודאי למותר להעיר לדכוותי' שכיון שכמה הרפתקאות עברו על כתבי יד אלו בודאי שיש לשמור עליהם אפילו בעבודה הנ"ל שלא ישמשו בהם ידי זרים, ולא עביד קוב"ה נסא במגנא, היינו סטרא דלעו"ז ששם הענין דחנם בלא מצות ואפילו לא זר כפירוש המבואר בהמשך והחרים תרל"א היינו זר בענין זה עיי"ש סד"ה והחרים.

ובפרט אתענין כיון שמוצאים עתה לאור דרושי הרה"צ כו' ר' הלל מפאריטש על ס' שמות שנמצא כאן ביכל מסודר כתבנית פלח הרמון על ס' בראשית, הנה אם יש בין מאמרים הנ"ל שבביכלעך שכותב אודותם גם מאמרים הנ"ל על ס' שמות אפשר שיש בהם מילואים וכו' אף שבכלל הביכעל שתחת ידי כאן מסודר הוא לדפוס ולא עוד אלא שעבר עליו גם בקורת הצנזורה מלפנים כנראה מהתיקונים השונים שבו...

כבקשתו אזכירו ואת כל אלו שכותב אודותם בהיותי על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע והשי"ת יזכה את כאו"א מאתנו להודיע טובות בגשמיות וברוחניות.
