Greetings and blessing,

I was satisfied to receive your letter from the beginning of this week, in which you announce to me that you have begun to lead a Shabbos afternoon recreational gathering, organized by the Lubavitch community.

When one renders a service to one's fellow, whatever this service may be, our holy masters emphasize that "the poor man does more good for the wealthy than the wealthy does for the poor." When, in addition, this service is moral, when it permits drawing close to our Father Who is in Heaven, to Torah and mitzvos*, the good that one draws from it oneself is all the more important.

More precisely, the blessing of Hashem permits the person who has done good morally to adopt herself a conduct strictly in conformity with our holy Torah, without difficulty, and, in this way, to know elevation, from one stage to another, in her personal preoccupations.

May Hashem grant that you lead these Mesibos Shabbos* with the devotion that one can expect of a Jewish girl. You will have the merit of observing the fruits of your work, of giving good news on this subject, as well as of your success in your studies and, more generally, in your conduct.
