Greetings and blessing,

I am responding to your letter of the first day of Rosh Chodesh* Iyar, with what it contained.

Concerning your state of health, you must, in a general way, conform to the prescriptions of the doctor. There is surely a means of doing so without contradicting the sacred mission that is yours, all the more since the health of the body, "the fact that it be sound and intact, belongs to the ways of Hashem" (in the terms of the Rambam*). It is therefore impossible that one mitzvah* contradict another.

How much more is this the case when one does all this joyously, for joy breaks the limits inherent in matter and makes them disappear. Henceforth, materiality is no longer very far from spirituality.

May Hashem grant that you and the members of your family always announce good news, and that you know success in the mission entrusted to you, in good health.

With my blessing and greeting all the chassidim*,

P.S.: I attach an excerpt of the sichah* (of the Rebbe himself) delivered during the Shabbos* that blessed the month of Sivan last year. In fact, this is of currency throughout the year.
