Greetings and blessing,

I have just received your request for a blessing concerning your wife, the Rebbetzin*. When I find myself near the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us, I will mention her name, that she may have a prompt refuah*.

May Hashem grant that you give me good news on this subject.

It is doubtless useless to recall to one such as you the teaching of Chazal* that HaKadosh Baruch Hu* acts "middah keneged middah*" (that is, in a manner comparable to the attitude adopted by the man who solicits the blessing). By reinforcing the health of your pupils — that is, of your environment and your community — by rendering them morally more sound and by drawing their hearts close to our Father Who is in heaven, you will receive from Hashem health, physical and moral, since these two dimensions are linked among Yidden*, the satisfaction of your needs and those of your wife, for "the wife of a man is like his body."

All this is added to the intrinsic value that is yours. It is explained, regarding the saying of Chazal* that "the reward of a mitzvah* is the mitzvah* itself," that the very fact of having the possibility of putting it into practice is the highest retribution that a creature can receive, by the Goodness, without counterpart, of HaKadosh Baruch Hu*, allowing man, a material being, to put into practice the Will of the King, King of kings, HaKadosh Baruch Hu* Himself.

זה עתה נתקבל הפ"נ שלו אודות זוגתו הרבנית מרת... תחי' וכשאהי' על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע אזכירה לרפואה קרובה ויה"ר מהשי"ת אשר יבשר טובות בזה.

ובודאי לדכוותי' אך למותר להעיר על מרז"ל שמדתו של הקב"ה מדה כנגד מדה וכשמוסיפים בבריאות מושפעיו היינו סביבתו וקהלתו בריאות ברוחניות ע"י קירוב לבם יותר ויותר לאבינו שבשמים הרי הקב"ה מוסיף בריאות הגשמי והרוחני (אשר אצל איש הישראלי יחד ילכו והא בהא תליא) בהמצטרך לו ולאשתו דאשתו כגופו דמיא וזהו נוסף על ענין זה שגדול ערכו בפ"ע וכמובא הביאור במרז"ל שכר מצוה מצוה, אשר עצם היכולת לעשיית המצוה בפועל זהו שכר היותר גדול שנברא יכול לקבל בחסד חנם של הקב"ה המאפשר לאדם קרוץ מחומר למלאות רצון ממה"מ הקב"ה בכבודו ובעצמו.
