Igrot Kodesh · Letter 263 — Inquiry About Holocaust Survivors from Otwotsk

Volume 2 · Letter 97

By the grace of Hashem*, 22 Shevat* 5707, My dear Mr. Hitler-Barski, I greet you and bless you,
I wrote to you some time ago and I am writing once more, not being certain that my first letter reached you.
The author of this letter is the brother-in-law of Mendel Horenstein[1]. I would like to make the following request. A woman, Lea Tsibuliarge, who is now called Yana Tsibulska, wrote to us here. She states that the Horenstein couple fled the ghetto of Otwotsk toward the forest in April 1942[2]. Can you confirm this?
My sister-in-law, Madame Gur Ary[3], told me that you were in Otwotsk at that time. I therefore think that you must know what happened to them then.
I hope your response will be prompt and I thank you in advance. Menachem Schneerson,
For the present, we have not spoken of all this to my father-in-law, may he have a long life.
