To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Greetings and blessing,

I am responding to your letter, and I have learned with pleasure that you meet, from time to time, the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Schneur Zalman Hecht (of Chicago; see letter no. 2386). You also have shiurim* in Chassidus*, and I hope that you also take part in the chassidishe* gatherings that take place, from time to time, in Chicago.

You speak of the organization of your day, and it is difficult to express an opinion in the matter when one is far away. But, in addition to the three studies, which concern each one, instituted by my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us — those of Chumash*, Tehillim* and Tanya*, of which Rav Hecht has surely spoken to you — it would be good to set a study on the laws of shechitah* (the recipient of this letter is presumably a shochet*) and to review them each year.

It would be good also to take part in the division of the study of the Talmud and to study a tractate during the course of the year.

The organization of your day depends essentially on the free time at your disposal, during the working days and those when you do not work.
