Greetings and blessing,

We currently find ourselves between Pesach* and Shavuos*, and each day it is a mitzvah* to count the Omer*. Chazal* explain that this mitzvah* finds its origin in the desire that led Bnei Yisrael* to count the days from their departure from Mitzrayim*. They knew, in effect, that on the fiftieth day they would receive the Torah, and they awaited this date with the greatest impatience.

Then, all their material needs — food, drink, clothing — were satisfied, as the Torah recounts. They received, in effect, the manna, the well of Miriam, and it is said that "your garment did not depart from you."

Now, it can be the same in every place and in every time. When one experiences a true desire to put the Torah into practice, to conform oneself to its injunctions, one receives the Divine Promise that "I will give your rains in their time," from the moment one puts into practice the injunction "You shall keep My mitzvos*."
