Greetings and blessing,

I received your letter some time ago and have not yet replied to it, because of my many occupations. Moreover, I had good hope that everything had returned to order, or that an agreement had been found on most of the points, after I wrote to the network (Oholei Yosef Yitzchak Lubavitch* in the Holy Land — see letter no. 2608) and to your husband. I await that you announce to me good news confirming that this is indeed the case.

In our era, after we have endured terrible persecutions (those of the Second World War), and in this generation of the heels of Moshiach*, the King Moshiach* "stands behind our wall," in the expression of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us. He awaits that the mission entrusted to our generation be brought to its completion. Now, this is lighter than the role devolved upon previous eras.

Consequently, each one must put into practice the words of the verse: "The weak one will say: I am strong" — for a firm resolution in this domain allows one to reveal the hidden powers at one's disposal, and thus to multiply tenfold one's possibilities relative to what they are in time and conditions of an ordinary kind.

How much more so is this the case for a former pupil of Yeshivas Lubavitch, born of a Lubavitch family, whose wife, who comes to his aid, is also the daughter of a chassid*, having received a chassidishe* education. It is then quite clear that everything depends upon their decision, which must be sufficiently strong.

Moreover, such a decision must not be felt only in a moment of motivation or at a chassidishe* gathering. One must will to apply it concretely in daily existence and do so effectively. And this is not inaccessible. Each of us can, in a certain manner, put into practice the saying of the Baal Shem Tov*, that every Jew is capable of crossing the sea on a handkerchief, on condition of being animated by pure emunah*. It is surely useless to say more.

Obviously, you may show the present letter to your husband, or even make it known to other persons. For it is necessary to recall what has just been said to a great number of chassidim*, men and women.

The upsherenish* of your son has doubtless taken place in its time. May Hashem grant that you derive much chassidishe* satisfaction from all your children, with the moral contentment of knowing that you assume the mission entrusted to you by HaKadosh Baruch Hu* and that of our holy masters, in your environment, near or more distant.

ברכה ושלום!

זה מכבר קבלתי מכתבה, ומפני רוב הטרדות לא עניתי, ע"ע, עליו, ובפרט שתקותי חזקה, שלאחר שנתקבל שמכתבי להרשת וכן לבעלה שי' נסתדרו הדברים, ועכ"פ נשתפרו בחלק חשוב, ואחכה לבשו"ט ממנה שכן הוא.

בזמננו זה, אשר לאחרי זמן השמדות ר"ל ול"ע, ובדור דעקבתא דמשיחא, אשר כפתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, הנה זה - מלך המשיח - עומד אחר כתלנו ואינו מחכה אלא לסיום העבודה המוטלת על דורנו, שהיא קלה, לפ"ע, מעבודת הדורות שקדמונו, הרי על כל אחד ואחת לקיים הנאמר בכתוב החלש יאמר גבור אני.

ובהחלטה בתוקף בזה - מוציא גם הכחות הנעלמים שלו לגילוי, ובמילא יכול לפעול כמה פעמים ככה, מאשר אם הי' זה בזמן הרגיל ובתנאים רגילים.

ובפרט כשהמדובר הוא בתמים ומגזע אנ"ש, ואשר גם זוגתו - העזר שלו - היא ג"כ בת חסיד וקבלה חינוך חסידותי, שאז ברור הדבר שאין הדבר תלוי אלא בהחלטתם בתוקף הראוי. ולא רק החלטה ברגע דהתעוררות או בעת התועדות, אלא החלטה על מנת להביאה ומביאים אותה בפועל בחיי היום יומים, ואז לא נפלאת היא, שיקויים בכאו"א מאתנו מעין פתגם הבעש"ט שאמר אשר כל אחד מבני ישראל יכול לעבור את הים על מטפחת אם רק מאמין באמונה פשוטה. והאריכות אך למותר.

מובן שברשותה להראות מכתבי זה לבעלה שי', וכן לפרסמו לאחרים, כי כו"כ מאנ"ש, הן האנשים והן הנשים, צריכים להזכרה אודות כל הנ"ל, אף שדבר פשוט הוא.

בודאי הי' התספורת של בנם... שי' בעתה ובזמנה, והשי"ת יזכם לרוות ממנו רוב נחת חסידותי מכל ילידיהם - שיחיו, מתוך סיפוק נפשי אשר ממלאים תפקידם [ב] שליחות הקב"ה ושליחות נשיאינו הק' בסביבתם הקרובה וגם הרחוקה.
