To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,

Greetings and blessing,
I am responding to your letter of 18 Adar Sheini and to the preceding one, which reached me with an unusual delay.
You speak of the importance of having a mikvah* in your neighborhood of Katamon Gimmel (in Yerushalayim). You have surely already contacted the center for taharas hamishpachah* in Yerushalayim, which centralizes the collections and the realizations in this domain.
Given the importance of this realization, I would myself like to bring to it my participation, for a certain amount, in function of the means at the disposal of the tzedakah* funds I administer. For these have multiple debts, and the expenses are greater than the income.
May Hashem come to your aid, and to that of the members of the religious committee, to introduce purity into your neighborhood. For it is said that "taharah* leads to… Chassidus*, and Chassidus* to… the coming of Eliyahu HaNavi*, of blessed memory." Very soon and in our days, he will come and redeem us, may it be so, Amen, as the end of Maseches Sotah affirms. You will also consult Maseches Avodah Zarah 20b.

במענה על מכתבו מי"ח אדר שני וכן הקודם לו שנתאחרו בהילוכם יותר ע"ד הרגיל,
בם כותב אודות הנחיצות לסדר מקוה בשכונתם קטמון ג'. ובטח כבר דבר עם מרכז טהרת המשפחה אשר בירושלים ת"ו שהם המרכזים המגבית בזה וכן הפעולות בזה.
ובכ"ז לגודל חשיבות הענין הנה גם מצדי אשתדל בזה באיזה סכום, אבל רק כפי יכולת הקופות שתחת ידי שהם עמוסים חובות רבים וגם עתה ההוצאה יתירה על ההכנסה.
והשי"ת יעזרו ואת חברי ועד הדתי להמשיך טהרה בשכונתם שטהרה מביאה וכו' לידי חסידות וחסידות מביאה כו' ע"י אלי' הנביא זכור לטוב במהרה בימינו יבוא ויגאלנו כי"ר אמן וכפס"ד בסוף מס' סוטה, וראה ג"כ ע"ז כ' ע"ב.
בברכת הצלחה בעבודתם בקדש לכל חברי ועד הדתי ברוח ישראל סבא, המחכה לבשו"ט ואין טוב אלא תורה ומצוה ברוח יראת שמים טהורה.
