Greetings and blessing,

I am responding to your letter of 7 Nissan. I thank you for letting me know that your material situation has improved. Moreover, you have found a position as a teacher, and you must be aware of the great merit Hashem grants you in allowing you to draw your material livelihood from an activity that also assures your moral livelihood.

Just as you exert yourself to broaden your material means, all the more must you do the same for your spiritual means — on the one hand because the spirit is greater and more elevated than matter, and on the other because physical development depends upon moral development. This is altogether evident.

You doubtless know what was said at the chassidishe* gathering of the last day of Pesach*, during the Seudas Moshiach*, concerning one who has been saved. And Chazal* emphasize that the deed is essential. One must therefore, above all, take resolutions concretely applicable, in one's own four cubits and toward one's fellow.

May Hashem grant you success.

With my blessing for a kosher and freilichen* festival,

Because of the holiness of the festival, the Rebbe shlita* did not sign this letter, and I therefore do so in his place.

שלום וברכה!

במענה על מכתבו מז' ניסן, הנה ת"ח על הבשו"ט שהוטב מצב פרנסתו, וכיון שזהו ג"כ בשדה החינוך הכשר בודאי מכיר בהזכות הגדול שהצליחו השי"ת שפרנסתו הגשמית תהי' בבת אחת באותו ענין דפרנסתו ברוחניות ובמילא מובן אשר כשם שמשתדל בהגדלת הפרנסה בגשמיות עאכו"כ שצריך להשתדל בהגדלת הפרנסה ברוחניות הן מצד שרוחניות גדולה ומעולה מגשמיות ועוד זאת שההגדלה בגשמיות תלוי לכל לראש בהגדלה ברוחניות, וק"ל.

בודאי ידוע לו מה שנדבר ע"ד ניצול התועדות דאחרון של פסח בסעודת משיח וע"פ מרז"ל אשר המעשה הוא העיקר הרי נוגע לכל לראש בהחלטות הנוגעים לפועל הן בד' אמות של עצמו וכן בהנוגע לזולתו והשי"ת יצליחו.
