Greetings and blessing,

You speak of bitterness and sadness. It is useless to evoke at length what has already been condemned by our holy masters, as the Tanya* and various texts explain — that one must guard against it to the utmost.

The means of attaining this is forgetfulness, and if this is not possible otherwise, one must forget oneself, by thinking of Hashem, of the fact that He is the Essence of good. When one truly wills it and makes the necessary efforts, one attains it. Chazal* themselves say that effort is crowned with success.

With my blessing for mazal tov* and for a kosher and freilichen* festival,

Because of the holiness of the festival, the Rebbe shlita* did not sign this letter, and I therefore do so in his place.
