To the distinguished Chassid who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Yehuda Aryeh Walghemut of Utrecht, Holland,

Greetings and blessing,

I duly received your letter and the printed sheets that accompanied it. I have not had the time to read them in full, but I have leafed through them, and they are very good.

I shall, nevertheless, allow myself a remark. Today, everyone is in a hurry and considers that time is short. If these ideas were expressed in a more concise manner, they would presumably have a greater number of readers and even of people who would show interest in them.

I have heard that you have published much, in different languages. Now, in my library there are all sorts of seforim*, and it would therefore be good that yours also figure there. I thank you in advance — that is, for being willing to offer them.

On the occasion of the festival of Matzos*, the time of our liberation, I send you my blessing that it be kosher and joyous, that it bring you a true freedom, the deliverance from everything that obstructs an avodas Hashem* that is joyous and enthusiastic.

In your days and in ours shall be fulfilled the terms of the long-awaited promise: "As in the days of your going out from Mitzrayim*, I shall show you wonders" — at the time of the true and complete redemption, by our righteous Moshiach*.

P.S. Unfortunately, it has not been possible to bring a solution to the shechitah* problem you raise in your letter.

You will kindly indicate to me whether you wish that these sheets be returned to you.

שלום וברכה!

מכתבו וכן גליוני הדפסה נתקבלו, ואף שלא היו עתותי בידי לקרות את כל הגליונות בכ"ז דפדפתי בהם ודפח"ח.

וארשה לי הערה אחת אשר בהתאם לזמננו זה שהכל ממהרים ואומרים אשר הזמן קצר כו' וכו' הנה אם היו רעיונות אלו באים בקיצור יותר בודאי הי' מתרבה עי"ז חוג הקוראים ואפשר גם חוג המעונינים.

שמעתי שפרסם כבודו עוד ענינים בלשונות שונות וכיון שבספרי' שלי נמצאים ספרים מכל הסוגים, הנה [...] וראוי אשר גם מה שהו"ל ימצא שם, ות"ח מראש.

ולקראת חג המצות, זמן חירותנו, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לחג כשר ושמח, וחירות אמיתית, חירות מכל דבר המעכב עבודת ה' בשמחה ובטוב לבב.

ובימיו ובימינו יקויים היעוד המקוה, כימי צאתך מארץ מצרים אראנו נפלאות, בגאולה האמתית והשלימה על ידי משיח צדקנו.
