Greetings and blessing,
I duly received your letter, in which you make me aware of your noble intention to publish several seforim* of your ancestors. May Hashem grant that you bring this project to fruition, that you succeed in increasing and adorning the Torah, in particular its inner dimension, which has been revealed for these latter generations through the teaching of the Baal Shem Tov* and Chassidus*.
You know the statement of the Arizal*, reproduced in Iggeres HaKodesh* of the Alter Rebbe* in chapter 26, that precisely in these latter generations "it is permitted and a mitzvah to reveal this wisdom." You must also have seen the long explanation appearing in the introduction of Rabbi Chaim Vital* to Sha'ar HaHakdamos, which is also printed in the foreword of the Etz Chaim*, published in Warsaw in 5651, and in the Kuntres Etz Chaim*, published by Kehot*.
It is the spreading of these wellsprings outward that will hasten the end of our exile and bring about the true and complete redemption.
You speak of mutual-aid funds in order to be able to publish these seforim*. You doubtless know that Kehot* is devoted to the publication of the seforim* of our masters — those of Chabad* — or of educational works. In a general way, our expenses exceed our receipts. Consequently, we cannot envision another publication, and you will kindly excuse us.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו בו כותב אודות מחשבות לבו הט' להו"ל כמה מספרי קדש של אבותיו הק'. ויה"ר אשר חפץ ה' בידו יצליח להגדיל תורה ולהאדירה ובפרט פנימיות התורה וכמו שנתגלתה בדורותינו אלה בתורת הבעש"ט והחסידות. וכבר ידוע מאמר האריז"ל (הועתק גם באגה"ק לרבנו הזקן סי' כו') אשר דוקא בדורות אלה הוא מותר ומצוה לגלות זאת החכמה וכבר ידוע אריכות הביאור בהקדמת הרח"ו לשער ההקדמות (נדפס ג"כ בהקדמה לספר עץ חיים הוצאת ווארשא תרנ"א וכן בסוף קונטרס עץ החיים דהוצאת קה"ת). אשר ע"י הפצת המעינות חוצה מקרבים קץ גלותנו והגאולה האמיתית והשלימה.
מ"ש במכתבו אודות קרנות להדפסת ספרים הנ"ל. הנה בודאי ידוע לכת"ר מהוצאת קה"ת העוסקת בהדפסת ספרים מנשיאנו נשיאי חב"ד וכן ספרי חינוך וכו' וההוצאה גדולה על ההכנסה בלא"ה ובמילא אין מקום להוצאה נוספת מסוג אחר ואת כהדר"ג הסליחה...
