Greetings and blessing,

I was pleased to learn, through the direction of the yeshivah*, that you distinguish yourselves in your studies — by the ardor that you bring to it and by your good conduct. Doubtless you will redouble your enthusiasm for this study, in order to improve your conduct and to acquire good middos*.

You know the saying of the Rebbe Rashab*, whose hilula* falls today, that the talmidim* of the yeshivah* are "candles that illuminate." How much more so is this the case at the present time, when "darkness covers the earth."

Upon every talmid* of the Yeshivas Lubavitch falls, therefore, the specific responsibility of illuminating his surroundings, so that "for all Bnei Yisrael* there shall be light in their dwellings."
