Greetings and blessing,
I am responding to your letter, in which you tell me of your state of health and, in particular, of your eye. You will continue to conform to the doctors' instructions, and Hashem will grant you healing.
It is surely unnecessary to remind you that scrupulous observance of Kiddush* and Havdalah* particularly strengthens the clarity of the eyes. (The Rebbe explains, elsewhere, that Kiddush* and Havdalah* must specifically be made over wine.) Likewise, one must intensify the study of Chassidus* during Shabbos*.
In a pleasant manner, one may recall the saying of Chazal* that "a haughty step removes [the clarity of the eyes]." To make this haughtiness disappear and transform it, one must immerse oneself in the waters of Chassidus*, for tevilah* (immersion) is the anagram of bittul* (self-nullification) — the opposite of haughtiness.
As you requested, I shall mention the name of your wife and your children when I find myself at the holy tziyun* of my father-in-law the Rebbe, whose merit shall protect us, in order to obtain the satisfaction of all your needs.
With my blessing for a kosher and freilichen* Pesach*,
