Greetings and blessing,
You should have, first of all, gathered the older Chassidim* who are concerned by what is happening, and told them how surprised I am to see a Chassid maintain himself in such a manner of avodas Hashem* — one based on bitterness. Now, such a way of acting is totally excluded. There is no need to specify it, so clear is this even to those who are strangers to Chassidus*.
For the verse says "ivdu es Hashem besimchah*." Moreover, anyone who belongs to the community of Chassidim* knows to what extent the Baal Shem Tov* insists that avodas Hashem* be joyful. How much more so is this the case for those who have witnessed the miracles of Hashem and have been delivered from the country in which they previously found themselves (Russia).
There is a well-known saying of the RaZ"A — Rabbi Schneur Zalman Aharon, brother of the Rebbe Rashab*: "a litvak* does not believe until he himself has counted." Nevertheless, to count several times and, despite this, not to believe — that constitutes a terrible veil.
May Hashem grant success to this Chassid, and may he serve Hashem with simchah*. Thus he will be able to announce joyous news.
Awaiting good tidings, I conclude by sending you my blessing for success in your sacred shlichus*, and for a kosher and freilichen* Pesach*.

... לכל לראש הי' צריך בצירוף זקני אנ"ש המתאימים, למסור תמיהתי להרה"ח כו' מוה"ר... על אשר כנראה עד עתה לא עזב דרכו לעבוד את ה' דוקא מתוך מרה שחורה.
ואיך שדרך זה מופרך אין צריך ביאור אפילו לעולמ'שע כיון שהכתוב אומר עבדו את ה' בשמחה, ובפרט להשייכים לעדת החסידים וכמבואר ציווי הבעש"ט אודות עבודת ה' בשמחה, ובפרטי פרטים לאלו שראו נפלאות השי"ת במוחש ממש שהוציאם ממדינתם לפנים וכו' וכו', ה"ז כפתגם הידוע של הרז"א נ"ע: "א ליטוואק גלויבט ניט ביז ער ציילט ניט איבער". אבער איבערציילען און ניט גלויבען איז דאס גאר א מורא'דיקער העלם והסתר.
והשי"ת יצליח את הנ"ל לעבוד את ה' דוקא מתוך שמחה, שבמילא יהי' בידו לבשר בשורות משמחות...
המחכה לבשו"ט וחותם בברכת הצלחה בעבודתו בקדש ולחג הפסח כשר ושמח.
