Greetings and blessing,

I duly received your letters of the first day of Rosh Chodesh* and of 7 Adar Sheni, with what was enclosed therein. I also received the parcel of seforim* you sent me on 16 Shevat. Many thanks for what you have already sent, and I ask you to continue doing so in the future.

I have already written to the great Rav and Chassid, Rav Binyamin Eliyahu Gorodetsky of Paris, to express my surprise that the news is being conveyed with such parsimony. It is useless to complain about the past, and I would simply like to remind you that it is important that we have here certain elements, including those concerning the past. Doubtless you will fill all this in, without leaving it to someone else and without relying on what was said orally.

I am alluding in particular to the visit of Mr. Kol, and then of Rav Gold. It is clear that we here must know what took place. For we are, from time to time, in contact with the institutions to which these persons belong, in the United States.

I thank you for letting me know good news — the fact that all the members of your family are in good health. May Hashem grant that you announce good tidings to me, always and every day.

As every year, I remind you again that it is important to nourish morally the talmidim* who go home for the festival of Pesach* — first of all for themselves, so that they do not remain inactive, and above all so that they may be the channels through which one can spread, in the places where they find themselves, the ideas of Yiddishkeit* in general, of Chassidus*, its practices and its ways, in particular.

Such action is important for the broadest number. It is also the means of inspiring the talmidim* with the desire to deepen their knowledge, as various texts of Chassidus* explain. For in order to transmit, one must possess a concept profoundly.

You surely made the most of the days of Purim* in the appropriate manner. You will kindly inform me about this.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתביו מאדר"ח וז' אדר שני עם המצורפים אליהם. כן נתקבלה חביל[ת] הספרים ששלח בט"ז שבט. ות"ח ת"ח על העבר ובקשה על להבא.

כבר כתבתי להרה"ג הרה"ח כו' מוהרבא"ג שי', אשר לפלא הדבר שמקמצים כ"כ בכתיבה... והנה אין צועקין על העבר, ובאתי לעוררו שמהענינים הנחוצים לו כעת כאן, גם מהעבר - בטח ימלא בהזדמנות הבאה מבלי לסמוך על כתיבת אחר, ואפי' על מסירה בע"פ. ובפרט בהנוגע לביקורו של מר קול שי' ואח"כ של הרב גולד שי' - שבטח נחוץ לדעת פרטים עד"ז גם כאן, כיון שמזמן לזמן באים בקישור עם המשרדים השונים דארצוה"ב שהם שייכים להנ"ל.

ת"ח על הבשו"ט שכל הב"ב שיחיו בבריאות הנכונה, כן יוסיף לבשר טוב תכה"י.

כמו בכל שנה אעורר גם עתה, אשר כיון שכמה מהתלמידים ותלמידות נוסעים לבתיהם לימי הפסח, נחוץ לתת להם צידה (רוחנית) לדרכם זו - הן בנוגע להם בעצמם, מען זאל ניט ארומגיין ליידיג, והעיקר לעשותם צנורות להמשיך על ידם בהמקומות שיבואו רעיונות היהדות בכלל ורעיונות החסידות הדרכותי' ועניני' בפרט. ונוסף על הנחיצות בזה בשביל הרבים, ה"ז ג"כ צנור ואופן להחדיר בהתלמידים גופא חשק לדעת את הנ"ל בעומק יותר. וכמבואר בכ"מ בדא"ח אשר בשביל להשפיע לאחר צריך לדעת הענין בהבנה יותר עמוקה.

בודאי ניצלו ימי הפורים באופן המתאים, ויודיע עד"ז.
