I have already written that the success of Chassidim* depends on their acceptance of the following truth: they are not competitors, but must come to one another's aid.
As long as this does not appear clearly in their action, the channels conveying brachah* run dry. And, as the Tzemach Tzedek* says [1], Alef and Beis — the first two letters of the alef-beis* — are the initials of Achdus* (unity) and Brachah* (blessing) — whereas Gimel and Dalet, the letters that follow, are the initials of Gaavah (pride) and Dalus (poverty).
