Greetings and blessing,

I duly received your letter of parshas Vayikra. I am surprised that you speak of your home and of all your material concerns, but make no mention of your participation in Torah study or in chassidishe* farbrengens*.

For these are precisely the channels through which one receives blessing and success in all that one needs. And when the channels are in place, one may ask why the blessing one obtains is not the one one desires. Conversely, when one looks only at this blessing without concerning oneself with the channels, how can one be surprised?

Obviously, the essential thing is not to write about what has happened, but rather that there be concrete action — increased ardor in the study of Torah and in the practice of mitzvos*, as our holy Torah requires. In this way Hashem grants blessing and success. Moreover, He will surely increase them.

You may send to my secretariat the money that was given to you to finance the wedding of a needy couple, but one must know who this couple is, for in Eretz HaKodesh* there are many people in such a situation. If one knows who is involved, one will be able to forward this sum in the appropriate manner.
