Greetings and blessings,
You write asking me how to repair your fault. You traveled on a ship[1].
You will, therefore, set a fixed time for the study of the laws of Shabbos*, since these are connected with the same domain[2]. In addition, the Alter Rebbe explains in the Kuntres Acharon that one must possess a complete knowledge of the many principles relating to that day.
Without making it a vow, you will also give a few coins to tzedakah* on erev Shabbos*. You will likewise have an additional study of the inner dimension of the Torah — that is, of chassidus* — during Shabbos.
Hashem will grant you success, and there will be fulfilled in you the promise of the Kuntres Acharon that one is forgiven…[3]

במענה על מכתבו בו מבקש תיקון במה שנסע באני' כו' הנה יעשה לו קביעות בלימוד הלכות שבת והוא מובן מלבד הענין שזהו באותו דבר עפ"י המבואר ג"כ בקונטרס אחרון לרבינו הזקן בסופו להיות בקי בהלכתא רבתא לשבתא, וכן בלי נדר הנה בכל עש"ק יתן איזה פרוטות לצדקה וביום הש"ק גופא יהי' לו שיעור נוסף בלימוד פנימיות התורה היא תורת החסידות, והשי"ת יצליחו שיקויים בו האמור בהקו"א שמוחלין לו כל וכו'.
בברכה להצלחה בעניניו ובכל הנ"ל בפרט.
